31 Days is catching up with me! Today's post is inspired by the fact that I am actually sick today.
Sick days as a mom are tough! Quite honestly, I don't have good answers for how to survive. This week, surviving being sick has looked like my mom bringing over takeout for dinner, Hubby coming home from work early, asking my friend to babysit instead of having a coffee date so that I could run to the doctor, constantly playing Netflix for the three-year-old, ignoring the fact that our house looked like it might qualify for disaster relief, and sometimes just sucking it up and still doing some things that had to be done.
Slowly, very slowly, I'm learning to actually take time to rest when I'm sick, even though my kid wore a dirty soccer uniform to her game today and we ate fried chicken for two meals in a row. A few years ago I had a raging sinus infection for three weeks, and it only let up when I finally gave in and took a break. (Who has time to rest in December??) It is tough to take a full-out, do nothing break as a mom, but sometimes it's required to get our bodies back on track.
