Last Monday (March 21), we received the phone call we’ve been waiting for: we have been selected for an adoption case!
There are three children in this sibling group: a seven year old boy, a four year old girl, and a 13 month girl. One son and two daughters!
[We cannot post their names, pictures, or any other identifying information until the adoption is finalized, which will be at least six months from now. Therefore, I will refer to them as Boy, Girl, and Baby.]
I will never forget the first time I saw pictures of our children. I saw Baby first. Her huge smile lit up the picture. I saw Girl next. What a cutie! She looks like my sister, Lauren, did at four. Then came Boy. Oh my... He has PJ’s eyes, I thought. Our children. They’re beautiful! And soon to be ours!
When we were first called about the case, we were told to expect to meet them five days later and bring them home in two to three weeks. Two to three weeks?!? Goodness. It turned out to not be as much of a rush as originally indicated. We will be meeting them this weekend(!) and bringing them home in several weeks.
I cannot begin to express how grateful we are to have been chosen to parent these children. I am overwhelmed by the gracious provision of the Lord, whose work has been so evident throughout our entire process. It is with worshipful hearts that we eagerly await this weekend, trusting in His plans.
