We just got back from a 5-hour trip to our Dallas psychiatrist (and lunch with my sweet roommate!). And hey—this doctor doesn’t believe in drugging kids out of their minds! What a concept. I’m thankful for her. And for naptime, because five hours of car rides and tiny waiting rooms means that I need some peace and quiet!
On our ride home, Boy and Girl were having a lengthy discussion about who was riding in our car at that moment. Then Girl said, “let’s name the kids in our family.” I figured that they would name their half-siblings who live in another state, as they were discussing those siblings on the way to the doctor. Instead, they named themselves and PJ’s sister’s sons. I love that Boy and Girl are starting to think of our family as their family too!
When we got home and were heading inside, Boy turned around and said, “I love you, Mommy Katie.” This was the first time he had ever initiated those words. Awwww.
3:00 means Boy’s twenty minute “rest time” is over. Here’s hoping a short rest and an active afternoon will help him sleep before midnight and later than 5 AM!!
