Update: We have found a family to care for Luke for the year! We are so thankful for them and for all of you who helped spread the word.
Due to our unique family needs, we have been blessed with the opportunity to move to a larger apartment (closer to campus!) However, this blessing is bittersweet because our dog, Luke, is not permitted to move with us to the new apartment. We have had him for most of our marriage and are pained to see him go. However, the needs of our family are great enough that we need to move, and this pet-free apartment is the home with which the Lord has chosen to bless us.
In light of this, we are looking for a new home for Luke. We are hoping for a temporary (1 year) placement with a family, but are open to giving him away for good if need be. His only other option will be the pound. For a temporary placement, we would be more than happy to assist with maintenance costs (food, flea meds).
Luke is a 45 pound non-breed who has been so sweet to our kids and family (even when the kids aren’t so sweet back). He loves giving Seth kisses and is always seeking a belly-rub from our little ones. Our need to find Luke a home is a direct result of our family’s recent struggles with behavior challenges and other concerns. He has been a good dog, and we are sad to see him go, even for a season.
We can deliver him to anyone within driving range of Wake Forest. There is also the possibility of shipping him to Texas as we have family visiting in December.
Would you be willing to spread the word? Would you be willing to house our beloved pet?
