Week one at King Academy is wrapping up! We got off to a decent start while adjusting to new curriculum in grammar and writing. This week was half days of language arts and math. It was a good thing that we only attempted half days this week, as some students needed a reminder that school days mean…you have to do school work! I’m hoping for a little more self-motivation to kick in next week. We shall see.
On Monday, we got to take advantage of a local bowling alley’s summer promotion with a free game and free shoe rental! We met two other families for an hour of fun. Let me say that whoever invented the bowling ramp is a genius. I’m pretty sure we’d still be there waiting on the four-year-old game to finish without the help of this marvelous invention that actually gets the ball rolling down the lane.
Emma and I read A House for Hermit Crab this week, restarted her reading lessons, and worked on writing the letter “E”. She can now make a capital “E” with three horizontal bars pointing the right direction!
I don’t have much to report for the older two kids, as math and language arts aren’t always exciting. We did start week 3 of the Couch to 5K running program, and they’re doing a great job.
Today, we took advantage of a cool morning and met some friends for a walk at a park. I’ve also had a babysitter playing with the kids all afternoon so that I can catch up around the house!
