Week Three: School? Yeah, not so much this week. This is why we start in July. I’m hopeful that we’ll finish in late spring, but I’m realistic that a lot of interruptions require up to twelve months to finish a school year. On to week four!
Emma had swim lessons this week! She made great progress. The week ended with a chance to use the water slide. I have a fantastic three minute video of her sitting at the bottom of the slide (screaming), refusing to take the final plunge into the water. After making many demands of her swim teacher and accepting that there was no other way to get down, she slid! And she did it again, in much less than three minutes.
We took a day trip to Wrightsville Beach on Friday! We’ve been talking about going for over a year, and on Thursday night we decided to do it! We had a wonderful time enjoying the beach.
Other than water, our week consisted of a bit of math and language arts. The week ahead will have a few disruptions again, but I’m hoping this will be the last week of summer activities before we buckle down into a strict routine.
And for your enjoyment, this is what happens when Mom and Dad aren’t out of bed at wake-up time on Saturday morning.
