Hello! King Academy has been running on a very reduced schedule these past two weeks, owing to the move and the kids’
insane behavior excitement about moving? birthday parties? life? Anyway. We’ve stuck to the basics of math and language arts, with lots of independent reading time thrown in. Operation Control The Crazy coincided nicely with a huge pile of history books I had requested from the library!
First: snow! We’ve had lots of snow over the past two weeks. The public schools have been closed almost every day. The kids have had a great time playing outside! Brrrr.
We participated in our last Presentation Day with two other families. Vernon presented a poster about the Korean War, Brooklyn read a paper she wrote about jaguars, and Emma recited the continents. We will miss our Presentation day friends!
Brooklyn finished her writing curriculum for the year! This was our first time using Writing Strands. I like it for the most part—some things are a bit outdated, and some assignments could use more structure. But at the end of the book, she has some nice writing projects complete!
Next week will be full of packing and goodbye parties! Homeschool Happenings will likely be on hold until King Academy resumes at its new location in Waco, Texas!
