I’ve spent my fair share of hours reading blogs and designing chore charts—for the kids and myself. But no matter the schedule, house cleaning was always first to go in a busy day. Now, we live in a house that is far larger than I can keep clean because of our need for five bedrooms. Between moving, homeschooling, and kid crises, there was no way I was ever going to see a mop again (darn!). My mom found me a sweet lady who was looking for cleaning jobs, and the rest is history. She comes once a month, and when she leaves there is not one speck of dirt anywhere in my whole house. All I have to do is open the door, write a check, and find someplace to hang out with the kids while she cleans. Every fourth Friday is my favorite day! The house gets so clean that I have to do very little upkeep over the month. It’s grimy by the next time she comes…but that’s why we have a housecleaner! This lady is such a blessing to our family and helps keep my sanity intact.
House cleaning? I’ve let it go, and I’m so thankful that we have the means to add this kind of help.
