So it’s not my birthday month anymore, but better late than never, right? This month, I’m teaming up with the Compassion Bloggers Network to talk about birthdays—my birthday and the birthdays of Compassion kids!
One of my favorite birthday memories is when I turned thirteen. Let’s party like it’s 1999…because it was!
On this birthday, one of my gifts was black pants and a striped sweater set. I remember loving this outfit, enough to wear it to a school dance! That’s quite an outfit to make the school dance cut. I couldn’t find any pictures from this particular dance, but I did find this one:
My parents also paid the remaining balance on my rented flute, making it my very own. I was quite the band geek for four years!
My birthdays have always been a source of fun, encouragement, and celebration. This is not necessarily the case for children living in poverty. But you can change that by partnering with Compassion!
Compassion has made a really fun way for you to choose a child to sponsor! You can visit this page to find children who have a birthday today, and you can change the course of their life by beginning to sponsor them on their birthday! What a gift! Additionally, you can use a nifty search feature at the bottom of the page to locate waiting children who share your birthday. What better way to celebrate your birthday than to sponsor a child in poverty?
As always, our family values our relationship with Compassion and with our sponsored child. My daughter just wrote back to our Compassion kid this week and was very excited to do so!
