January felt like a slow reading month, but I read some longer books and made progress on my endeavor to finish The Lord of the Rings.
- The Two Towers: Finally. Finished. My take on Lord of the Rings remains the same: I recognize it as excellent literature, but I just can't get into the story. One book of the trilogy left!
- A Path Appears, by Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn: This books takes a look at a host of global problems and some solutions that are being used to tackle them. It was a hefty book (382 pages) but well worth a read.
- Summer Sisters, by Judy Blume: Another of Blume's adult-targeted novels. It was a good balance to some of the books that took more effort to read.
On to February!
