Making It As A Mom: Amazon Prime

My husband asked me if we needed to keeping paying for Prime. I asked him if he liked having toilet paper. He does, so our Prime membership doesn't lapse.

This is a post for 31 Days about making it as a mom. Check out the intro post if this is your first time here!

Today's topic is my single best tip for keeping your house on track: Amazon Prime. Amazon is not sponsoring this in any way; rather, I sponsor Amazon through my near-daily purchases and monthly orders of products in bulk.

Once upon a time last year, my husband asked me if we really needed to keeping paying for Prime. I asked him if he liked having toilet paper in the house. He does, so our Prime membership doesn't lapse.

Did my child come home with (ohmygoshanother) birthday party invite? I sit down right then and order an inexpensive, Prime-eligible gift that matches the theme on the invite. Two days later, it arrives at my door. I put in a gift bag and set on a high shelf awaiting party day. Bonus points if my kid remembers to make a card.

I couldn't find curry paste at the store and needed it for a recipe that week. Prime.

We needed cable staples, a textbook, and shoelaces one day. Prime.

My kids mangled the vegetable peeler(??). Prime. Make that two.

And every month, I use Subscribe and Save to order bulk packages of things like diapers and wipes, paper goods (hello, toilet paper!), cleaning supplies, vitamins, and certain foods. Ordering five things at a time gives me 15% off everything, making it at least as good of a deal as I can buy at the store, without actually going to the store which makes this introverted, busy mama very happy.

For me, Prime takes the stress out of remembering all the things we need when I'm running errands and lets me focus less on managing our stuff.

Do you use Amazon Prime? Or another online service? Let me know below or on Facebook!
