Story time at the library? Anyone?
We've done story time off and on for years now. It's free, educational, and fun! I always appreciate the librarian's enthusiasm for engaging the kids, and we've been introduced to some new favorite books.
We make a weekly library trip as it is, so I love when I can combine our trip with story time and make running errands more fun. Story time is a low-pressure way for us to get out of the house and head to a kid-friendly activity.
We make it to story time most often when the weather is not great for playing outside. In the winter, library trips were one of the few times I bundled everyone up each week. In the summer, it's great to have a cool, indoor place to go.
With such an age range of kids, it's hard for us to find activities that everyone can enjoy at the same time. Story time is something that everyone can go to. The little kids can enjoy the program, and the big kids can wander the library or settle down to read.
