King, Party of SEVEN!

We went to Kyle Field for PJ’s 30th birthday…and brought another little teammate along! King Kid 5 is due in April!   We are thankful for this new little life! Thanks to Shep McAllister (and a random Aggie at the game) for the pictures.…

Emma Turns Three!

We celebrated Emma’s third birthday this past weekend! She somehow got her heart set on a bunny theme, which was very seasonally appropriate and easy to accommodate with all the Easter decorations filling the stores! She wanted a “bunny cake”. A few quick clicks through Pinterest resulted in some bunny printables that could be stuck onto…

34 Weeks

34 weeks! Making progress! I am so ready to hold my baby and tickle his little feet instead of having them kick me in some really uncomfortable places. Two weeks ago, my OB noted that my belly growth had slowed and dropped off of the normal measurements, so she wanted to check on baby’s growth with an ultrasound. I had that today, and was…

32 Weeks

I was so excited to move out of the 20-numbered weeks, especially since at week 24 my due date was bumped back two weeks, landing me back at 22 weeks again. Our little guy is doing great! I have been feeling much more pregnant over the last few weeks and have seen and felt some very strange movements from baby! My NICU brain is also calme…

Baby Update

29 weeks! Third trimester! The end is in sight! The good news: our little man is doing well. All of my sonograms have been normal. I passed my glucose test—how I can drink so many vanilla Dr. Peppers and eat so many holiday sweets and not end up with gestational diabetes is beyond me, but I’m thankful nonetheless. I’ve found a new OB here…

We took a roadtrip to Kentucky in the days leading up to Thanksgiving to see our wonderful friends, B.J. and Meg King and their kids.

Yes, a roadtrip. With three kids. We actually had a really smooth trip, praise God, even though it included 40 hours of driving(!), one kid with the stomach flu, and a nausea-prone pregnant lady.

On the way back, we made a stop in Nashville to be on the Dave Ramsey show! PJ and I are big fans; thus, the kids can quote the show's phone number, the script of the oft-repeated commercials, and the theme song. We were really excited to do our "Debt-Free Scream" and meet Dave after paying off our mortgage a few months ago.

The Kings made the trek to Nashville with us to celebrate, and we had a great time. Dave and his team were extremely hospitable and generous to our (loud) group of ten.

If you're interested, you can listen to our segment below (nine minutes).

Fall Festivities

We took the first week of October as the first "off" week in our six weeks on/one week off school schedule. This gave us some much needed time for rest and fun as well as time for time-consuming tasks that would ordinarily interrupt the school routine. Our week started with a trip to a pumpkin patch! We had a fun time enjoying a hay…

A Return, I Hope

After a loooong absence, I think I’m ready to return to (semi)-regular blogging. I’ve got a number of posts floating around my brain again, a sure sign that I need to write them down. First, an announcement: we’re expecting! In nothing short of a miracle, I’m fourteen weeks pregnant with kiddo number four! Yep, we’re another one o…

Emma can climb

This is a cross-post from PJ's blog We discovered today that Emma can (finally) climb out of her crib with ease. In fact, she was so good at it we documented it for posterity. Youtube We have attempted to switch Emma to a toddler bed twice already. First at 18 months and again after she turned 2 years... and she…
